JLC’s founding members have a combined 60+ years experience in ecosystem restoration, civil and environmental engineering and more recently the application of sustainability principles to site planning, and development, transportation, and stormwater management. We provide a full range of scientific, engineering, landscape planning, GIS and design services.

Buttonwood Flood Mitigation & Water Quality Improvements

JLC Associates was retained by the City of New Castle, Delaware to perform drainage and flood mitigation improvements to mitigate tidal and non-tidal flooding in residential sections of the city. After extensive hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, JLC Associates developed improvement alternatives using “Green Infrastructure” design elements. JLC also incorporated created wetlands to provide water quality improvements through their natural filtering capacity.
